Most furniture manufacturers perform re-upholstery on damaged and rental furniture. This process requires the old upholstery to be removed as well as all the staples before new upholstery is applied. Over 90% of the time required to perform re-upholstery is consumed by manual labor removing old staples. Tools that purport to be able to do this today are nothing more than automatic chisels and do very little to speed up the process.
